About Michael

Like many young idealists, I moved to NYC after college with dreams of performing and traveling around the world.  Unlike many, the practical side of me came armed with an undergraduate degree in management and law as my backup plan.  I was willing to consider law school as an option and made the calculated decision to toe both lines simultaneously – developing a viable career in the legal industry while still pursuing my first love – the desire to travel and perform.  I was fortunate enough to be able to travel both nationally and internationally as a professional actor while setting the building blocks in place to secure a position in the legal industry in case I decided to leave show business.

By my mid-30s I began to have thoughts of making a career transition and pursuing my second career in the legal industry in earnest. I was working at an AmLaw Top 100 law firm and realized that practicing law was not for me.  I decided to go to business school and earned my MBA in management with a concentration in organizational behavior, honing my skills in thinking like an industry leader.  I realized that lawyers at all levels needed help in their career development and I knew I could make a difference in the competitive legal talent management field.  As an actor, I was an observer and listener, communicating the director’s vision.  As an executive coach, those same skills apply to working with leaders – curiously asking questions and listening intuitively – allowing you to direct our sessions and together, make meaningful changes in your life and career.

Through sheer moxie, trial-and-error, and a little bit of hustle, I transitioned from a successful career in show business to a thriving career in the legal industry.  I have been able to parlay my education and experience, including my executive coaching certification, into a successful legal talent management career in NYC’s demanding ‘BigLaw’ environment, helping countless lawyers navigate law firm culture and make tough personal and professional decisions.  The most rewarding part of my job is having lawyers, at every level, reach out to talk through an issue.

Bottom line, I had to get real with myself.  It took time, self-reflection, and support from family and friends to get me to where I am today. I understand the unique challenges facing professionals at all points in their careers, especially mid-career professionals, and am devoted to helping them thrive.

And that’s what I can do for you.  I’d like to help you achieve your goals and dreams.  A to B Coaching is a proven step-by-step process that we work through, together, in a safe and confidential space for personal and professional exploration, to help you get from point A to point B and beyond.
